Two of the Liberty Triangle “Roundabouts” (traffic circles to the lesser informed) have finally been decorated with 3 selections (each) from renowned artist Lyman Whitaker.
The kinetic art sculptures were funded by a collective of funds orchestrated by the Liberty Arts Commission, Liberty Arts Foundation, Capitol Federal Bank of Liberty, LTD Enterprises LLC, Plant Sub of Liberty and approximately eight more donors* with the significant assistance of the Leopold Gallery (Brookside, MO) and Paul Dorrell (president) and Paula Busser (consultant/gallery director).
So the next time you drive by Planet Sub or Hy-Vee ….slow down as you drive the “roundabouts” and enjoy the new artwork. We’ve worked hard for all of us to enjoy it!
and…if you REALLY enjoyed the artwork….and would like to see MORE…feel free to dash off a check/contribution to:
Liberty Arts Foundation, LLC (a 501C3 NFP organization) – PO Box 283, Liberty, MO 64069
* (additional primary donors):
Fran & Jerry Bussy, Scott & Robin Page, Kristi Soligo Fleshman, Karen Orrill, Texas Roadhouse, Leopold Gallery, Liberty Hy-Vee & Geiger Cement.
With several generous contributions from many local supporters and the promise of a sizable contribution from a local banking institution, it appears as we already have the “Hy-Vee Roundabout” filled and are on our way to filling the ” Lowes Roundabout”.
The Traffic Circles (round-abouts) in front of Lowes and HyVee/Dicks Sporting Goods may get some artistic sprucing up if the Commission and supporters have their ways.
The Liberty Arts Commission (in conjunction/support of the Liberty Arts Foundation) are seeking funds to place Kinetic Artwork by Lyman Whitaker and the Leopold Gallery.
